Hello Friends 🙂
Hope you are doing well… I have been a bit under the weather lately. Cannot wait to get crafting again. Today its my turn to post for the month long Craftykickstart16. You should definitely check it out for a chance to win prize vouchers. Still a few days left to participate.
Today I wanted to blog about Planning crafts projects in advance. In all honesty, I have been through times when I felt like crafting and did not know where to start. I would go to my crafting area and come back after sitting there for several minutes doing anything constructive. And because I am a mother of two cute and adorable kids 😛 (If I may say so myself) I usually get just 15 to 20 minute chunks of creative time. I would start thinking about what to make and take out a few things and then it would be time to do one household chore or another. And not being organised and lack of planning projects in advance affected my creativity and motivation to craft.
So to help myself, I decided to plan my crafty projects in advance. And I did get myself a pretty planner from Paperchase because I could not resist :-P. Of course, you do not have to do that! you can use any ring binder or diary system. However mine is an A5 planner, I prefer this size to a smaller personal one. Its pretty and I do enjoy using it. There is a huge planner craze going on at the moment in the crafty world. All the big companies are coming out with some gorgeous planners. Simple Stories have come out with the gorgeous Carpe Diem planner collection. There are products available at Artful Crafting. Then there is Kikki.K (an Australia based Swedish Company)and their planners just make me sigh. Heidi Swapp has some yummilicious planners and Marion Smith planners look pretty wonderful too. There are many more planners out there like Erin Condren planners and The happy planner by Mambi …. the list goes on!!!
I must say that some planner girls decorate their planners so beautifully!!! Check out Pinterest for ideas if you are interested.
So for my Paperchase planner I created some some planner pages for my craft projects. Here is what they look like.
Now I can plan on the go while waiting in the car for my kids when they are at their after school club. And it has helped me to be better prepared and motivates me to create and enjoy my hobby. Ok Here is a peak into my planner… 🙂
