Hello again 🙂
I quick card share today, which is actually my entry for the Waffle Flower Crafts Challenge. The theme this month is Inlaid Die-cutting. I absolutely adore Waffle flower challenges as the focus of each challenge is a technique and they also provide an inspirational sketch as well as a suggested colour theme. The team also create some awesome inspirational projects each month… These challenges are surely a whole lot of fun!! You should definitely check them out.
The truth is that this is my first time ever making a card using the inlaid die-cutting technique. I went for a clean and simple look.
So the concept of this card evolved from these inspirational photos by Waffle Flower Crafts.
I started with a background using watercolour card stock and some Winsor and Newton paints (a recent buy- I love them 🙂 ) I used the colours from the photo inspiration. And then I cut out some heart balloons using the Waffle flower congrats die from the watercolored panel and also from a cream card stock (I had 2 sets of balloons; cream and the watercolored ones). Then I added my cream panel to the card base and inlaid the water coloured balloons. Basically what that means is that the empty spaces left by the cream balloons were filled in my glueing the water-coloured balloons (hope I am making sense :-P). I also cut out the Perfect word die-cut using some black card stock and used it as my sentiment. The layout of my card is loosely based on the sketch of the month. The balloons also needed some strings and I drew some using a Copic multiliner, attached a thin strip of black card stock on the left of the card for some interest and finally used wink of stella on the balloons. 🙂 Here is another photo.
Hope you like it… I would love to hear what you think. Thanks for stopping by.
